![]() Upon reaching Duloc, Shrek and Donkey are greeted by Farquaad expressing his unwavering love for his perfect kingdom alongside his cheery cookie-cut army of Duloc Dancers in “What’s Up Duloc?”. Wigs are available for both characters as well! Clad in elaborate Renaissance-style royal robes, and dummy legs for kneeling actors, your Farquaad will rule Duloc with an iron, albeit small, fist! In a green medieval dress and matching bodice, Princess Fiona will enchant any audience with her unmatched beauty. The Costumer provides Farquaad costume options for both kneeling and non-kneeling actors embodying the vertically-challenged ruler of Duloc. The audience is then treated to Fiona’s backstory and her dreams of breaking the mysterious curse put on her through “True Love’s First Kiss.”Īs more characters like Farquaad and Princess Fiona are introduced, The Costumer will ensure that all of them look their very best. After playing through an episode of “This Is Your Wife” (a tongue-in-cheek parody of The Dating Game), Farquaad decides to marry the beautiful Princess Fiona, who is at the moment trapped in a castle surrounded by lava and guarded by a fierce fire-breathing dragon. Upon asking the Mirror if his kingdom is the most perfect of them all, the Mirror tells Farquaad that his kingdom can be if Farquaad becomes a true king by marrying a princess. Farquaad is then interrupted by the Captain of the Guards who brings the lord the Magic Mirror. Meanwhile, in Duloc, Lord Farquaad is interrogating the Gingerbread Man into revealing the whereabouts of any remaining fairytale freaks in his kingdom. The Costumer will also provide you with a plethora of other fantastical fairytale costumes, like Pinocchio, the Big Bad Wolf, the Three Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty, and much more! With a gray fur jumpsuit with built in padding, hood with floppy ears, tail, and hooves to match, the actor playing your Donkey will easily embody the chatty character. ![]() Along the way, Shrek rescues a loquacious talking Donkey who tags along with Shrek on his journey to the kingdom. Shrek hesitantly decides to travel to Duloc to regain his swamp from Farquaad and get the fairytale creatures’ homes back. The band of fairytale misfits explain through “Story of My Life” that they have been banished from the Kingdom of Duloc by the sinister and short, Lord Farquaad, for being freaks and that they will be put to death if they ever return. Shrek’s peaceful existence is soon interrupted when a caravan of refugee fairytale creatures sets up camp in his beloved swamp. Shrek sings about his comfortable solitary existence in “Big Bright Beautiful World.” The scene transitions to Shrek having grown into an embittered adult ogre who lives contentedly alone in his beloved swamp. Shrek’s parents warn him that because of his appearance, he will be shunned by the world and an angry mob will be the last thing he sees when he takes his final breath. The story begins when a young Shrek is sent out of the house by his ogre parents to make his own way in the world. This musical has become a crowd favorite among for scholastic and community theatre groups for its catchy music, comical script, and themes of being who you are. Shrek The Musical follows the titular character on his quest to get his beloved swamp back from the clutches of the fairytale hating and vertically-challenged Lord Farquaad.
